7月16日（土）はTOEFL ITP by語学センターです。

勤務校で受験をする方々、体調を整えて励んでください。前日は必ず充分に栄養と睡眠をとりましょう。

授業でも、英語自主学習カウンセリングでも申し上げていることを今一度。

試験対策で「試験対策本」ばかりをしたくなる気持ちはわかります。しかし、次のことを忘れないでいてください。

(1)英語力があって試験対策をすること
(2)英語力がなくて試験対策をすること

(1)≠(2)です。

(2)の場合、試験対策をしていることで英語力を（ついでに）つけているという気になってしまうのは単なる誤解。相当に頑張ってもその試験の一部用の英語に限定されるかもしれません。

得点をしようともがいていると、つい「点取り虫」学習になります。しかし、英語力をつけていて、ある１つの試験にその力を使おうとする場合は、本当に「対策」だけで済みます。（まあそれだけでも充分に大変なのですけど）

自分に英語力があると過大評価していて、あるいは周囲と相対評価していて、試験対策をしているつもりで、あるいは「何度か受ければ点数があがる」と信じて受験だけ繰り返しているのも問題。その力はどれだけのものですか？　英語に触れていれば、英語を好きでいれば、英語の「授業」にいれば自然に英語力があがると思うのも勘違い。

あなたがほしいのは何？

一生使えることば？それとも、
お試し「英語」？

小栗クラスの方々を中心にお届けしています。

TOEFL受験結果をみる際にもっとも気をつけるべきなのは、各セクションごとのスコアの推移です。

  • 狭い範囲（周囲）の人たちのスコアと比較して喜んだり嘆いたりしないこと
  • 合計点の上下だけを見ないこと。
  • 自分のこれまでのスコアと、今のスコアをしっかりみつめること。
  • 今のスコアを直視して、次の具体的な学習計画を練ること。
  • 目標を遠すぎないところに、設定しなおすこと。

[TOEFL ITP：最高点は677／最低点：300]

650点以上 「英語試験エキスパート」
英語を学業／業務に使えるだけでなく試験も得意です。iBTを受けて世の中に実証しましょう。ぜひ英検１級ももらいましょう。
600点以上 〜650点未満 「英語使えます」
英語を学業／業務にも使うことができます。まだまだいろんな実を結ぶことへ努力できます。特に、スピーキング、ライティングには弱点が残っていることでしょう。iBTを受けて磨く道を計画しましょう。英検１級を受けましょう。
550点以上〜600点未満 「英語得意です」
英語は得意科目といっても構いません。英語の知識が増えています。英語を学業／業務にも少し使えます。磨き残しがいっぱいあります。花や実の種類を増やしたり、色とりどりにしていくのはここから。
500点以上〜550点未満 「英語が好きです」
英語を学習するのが好きで、知識も増えてきています。これからいろいろな花を咲かせ実を結ばせることができるか、あるいは荒れ地に戻るかの分かれ道。時々雑草を抜く作業も欠かせません。基礎から中級者への壁は厚いからです。iBTを受けるのは危険を覚悟で。
450以上〜500未満 「英語始めました」
開拓中。英語の種をまき始めましたが、まず水やりや土壌の手入れに自信がありません。怠ると種はうまく育たず枯れ、雑草に占拠されます。要基礎徹底。
400以上〜450未満 「入門（開拓始めました）」
土いじりをし始めました。土や種を触り始めました。つまり、荒野に立ち英語を学習し始めたばかりです。ここからいかようにも道を選べますが、まずは土づくりから。
350以上〜400未満 「開拓前」
英語の学習の門の前で荒野（英語）をながめてみています。英語学習について体験したことがあります。可能性は無限大。
300以上〜350未満 「鉛筆」
選択肢を選ぶのに鉛筆をころがして占ったのと同じ。つまりITPには”直感テスト”として参加しました。
